10 Awesome Horror Movie Villains With Stupid One Weakness

6. Got Mummy Problems? Get A Cat

Brendan Fraser, the 1990s version of Chris Pratt, leaad the Indiana Jones wannabe action-horror film The Mummy. While it wasn't quite a remake of the classic Universal monster film, it borrowed some elements and added others. The late 90s were a time when blockbuster films still had a sense of humour and levity about their placement on the calendar and didn't treat themselves as 3 1/2 hour comic book "event" films.

And while The Mummy is a tremendously silly film, one still gets a jolt of nostalgia re-visiting it, or its sequel which includes one of the worst CGI renderings of Dwayne Johnson or any actor onscreen.

Imhotep himself, played rather intimidatingly by Arnold Vosloo, is a powerful force, gaining more strength as he soul-sucks those who unleashed him upon the world to the point where he can control the power and direction of a huge sandstorm. He also has an army of zombie soldiers to do his bidding, easy to hack away at but strong in number.

That said, there are ways to ward him off. If you're Rachel Weisz, making out with him seems to do the trick. If you're not, stick to Egyptian folklore: The Mummy is a classic ailurophobe. His fear of cats is so strong that just holding one in his direction will send him shrieking out of the room.

Kenny Hedges is carbon-based. So I suppose a simple top 5 in no order will do: Halloween, Crimes and Misdemeanors, L.A. Confidential, Billy Liar, Blow Out He has his own website - thefilmreal.com - and is always looking for new writers with differing views to broaden the discussion.
