3. Robert Graysmith - Zodiac

Weve all been given to some form of obsession at one point or another we all have that particular movie or piece of music we love just a little bit more than anyone else. But in film, emotions such as obsession are often heightened for effect, and Robert Graysmiths determination to catch the Zodiac killer takes on a whole new level of crazy. His unhealthy fixation spans decades and states, where he questions suspects and investigators alike and collects evidence from police precincts whenever the mood takes him. It ends his marriage, alienates his children. It becomes his career, his whole life. Whether the real Graysmith acted this way is debatable. Jake Gyllenhaals portrayal of the man makes sense within David Finchers focused narrative but he would in reality be white-coated off to a health centre.
