10 Awesome Movie Jobs You Had No Idea Existed
1. Pixar's Office Bartender
We may be stretching the definition of "job" slightly here - more of an office duty, really - but hear us out.
As much as Pixar might be home to some of the most intelligent and wholesome family entertainment the world has ever seen, don't ever assume that the animation studio's hard-working employees don't love to let loose like anybody else.
And to compensate for the fact that there's not much in the way of quality watering holes near Pixar's Emeryville campus, there are in fact three sizable bars installed on-site to help employees kick back after the day's work is done.
The bars are all situated in the office's animation wing, and while they don't have employees paid specifically to man the bars, the unwritten rule is that stocking and tending the bar is the responsibility of whichever workers reside in the cubicles closest to the bar.
You can appreciate the logic - if you're in the privileged position of being the closest one to the drinks, it's only fair that you make sure there's always enough for everybody else.
Given that Pixar animators clearly work plenty hard as it is, hopefully they don't find the responsibility of playing bartender too much of a chore. Pouring drinks for the likes of Brad Bird, Andrew Stanton, Lee Unkrich, and Pete Docter sure must be neat, though.
