10 Awesome Movie Jobs You Had No Idea Existed
6. An X-Men "Specialist" To Prepare The Cast For Their Roles
X-Men: First Class was a prequel to the prior X-Men movies, naturally resulting in many of the primary mutants being recast.
But it was hugely important for audiences to feel a sense of continuity between the original and newer, younger cast members, and so the producers made the canny decision to hire an X-Men "specialist" to work with the actors on their characters.
Sadly there isn't much information about this job online, but it appears that a foremost authority on the X-Men was brought aboard to acclimate the new cast to their characters and help them understand their written motivations.
The specialist has never been named, though we're going to assume that Fox didn't just grab someone off an X-Men fan message board and put them to work - it was more likely someone involved with the X-Men comics in an official capacity, such as a writer.
The filmmakers committing this hard to ensure the basic psychology and personality of each character was correct is all the proof necessary that First Class was made by people who really care about the IP.
