8. Commando - Dead Cops?
One of the best scenes in Commando occurs as John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Cindy (Rae Dawn Chong) are robbing a weapons store, when he's arrested by the cops and hauled away in a meat wagon. Cindy, in an attempt to break him out, drives up alongside the cops - who think she's a hooker - and after reading the instructions, fires a rocket launcher at the vehicle, flipping it on its side and allowing her to flee with Matrix in tow. It's a hilarious though slightly troubling scene that's completely in tone with all those other politically incorrect, flippantly violent action movies from the 1980s; the two innocent cops are not shown again, either wounded or walking away, so one could easily draw the conclusion that having a freaking
rocket fired at their vehicle ended up killing them. I guess this is the point at which Arnie would crack a joke about omelettes and eggs.
