10 Awesome Movie Showdowns We Never Got To See

6. The Swimming Pool Fight - Let The Right One In

Let The Right One In Let The Right One In is not a movie you associate with ass-kicking set-pieces, and it's obvious why. Simply put, it just wouldn't fit in with the mournful, Scandi-horror tone, heavy on mood and dialogue-driven plot. Yet underneath the sombre hood, it's capable of breaking into outrageous violence and goes fully batsh*t insane in a mostly unseen scene. It's the scene at the pool, and if you've seen it, you'll goddamn well remember it. Yet still, here's a reminder €“ protagonist Oskar is held under the water by the bullies, and the shot focuses on his submerged form. Meanwhile, above this weirdly tranquil scene, Eli the vampire is tearing into the school bullies, decapitating three and leaving one a quivering wreck. In fact, the only thing we get to see is the arm that was holding Oskar down come the hell off, and while that's a shocking sight in itself, it's nothing compared to what was going on above the waves. Eli flew one bully across the pool, for god's sake. I'm not too gutted about this one €“ keeping the camera focused on Oscar is a smart decision in-keeping with the whole tone. But my god, the aftermath of the scene €“ replete with decapitated bodies €“ leaves you wondering what the hell occurred up there.
