10 Awesome Movies That STILL Aren't On Blu-Ray

7. The Batman Vs. Dracula

Solaris 2002
Warner Bros. Animation

The Batman vs. Dracula may just be the Caped Crusader's most underrated animated adventure. A feature-length spin-off of animated series The Batman, the film was noticeably darker as Gotham's Dark Knight squared off against iconic vampire Dracula.

While this dark tone set the film apart from its parent series and lent itself nicely to the horror-themed story, it was also incredibly beneficial to the visuals, with the film incorporating a ton of effective horror conventions to make it all the more thrilling. That resulted in some hauntingly beautiful shots of Gotham's eerie cityscape, its foggy cemetery and the ever-present yellow moon that hung over the city. And all of this complemented the dark silhouettes of these two deadly creatures of the night.

As with many mid-2000s cartoons, the animation was already sharp enough to warrant the high definition treatment, but as it only just marginally missed the modern day "HD era", neither the show nor the film ever made it to Blu-Ray - which is a real shame because it's practically ready for one.

A high-def version was eventually released to digital platforms and it was clearly a major upgrade from the DVD, but for some reason, it still hasn't made its way to disc yet.

Given that The Batman vs. Dracula is virtually now the only animated Batman movie not to get a Blu-Ray release, there are a ton of Bat-fans who would greatly appreciate the opportunity to add this Gothic adventure to their collection.
