10 Awesome Performances In Otherwise Awful 2017 Movies

8. Anthony Hopkins – Transformers: The Last Knight

Just when you thought the Transformers franchise had died a much-needed death along came The Last Knight – the very worst instalment in an already very bad series.

Even bothering to try to explain its nonsensical plot here is pointless, but it’s basically a rehash of all the other Transformers films except this time with ancient aliens, King Arthur, Nazis and a submarine thrown in plus, of course, an excessive amount of explosions. This is a Michael Bay film after all.

There’s a glimmer of fun in Anthony Hopkins’ performance, however, as eccentric Brit Sir Edmund Burton as he chews up the scenery and spits it out like the professional ham that he is. He’s in OTT mode throughout but does the best he can with an atrocious script and he’s responsible for the film’s few laughs.

Why he’d agree to slum it in a movie like this is anybody’s guess but for anyone who was forced to sit through this cinematic s**t-show, it's great that he did.
