10 Awesome Star Wars: Duel Of The Fates Moments We'll Never Get To See

2. The Death Of R2-D2

Though there have been some incredible characters throughout the history of the Star Wars franchise, two that have stood the test of time and appeared across all three trilogies, and even Rogue One, are C-3PO and R2-D2.

It is incredible that a relationship like this has been portrayed so well since one of the duo speaks only in beeps, as the two droids have entertained for years almost as an old married couple that have seemingly done nothing but bicker and argue. Had the Duel of the Fates been made however, we'd have been hit with all the feels.

During the heat of battle, R2-D2 would have taken a fatal blast, destroying the droid's circuits and rendering it little more than an empty shell. As Chewbacca carried R2 on his back, similar to how he once carried 3PO all those years before, R2's best friend would have been inconsolable.

As a droid C-3PO has very rarely shown much emotion other than worry and fear for his own life. Seeing him mourn the death of his best friend would have made this one of the toughest death scenes to take in the entire history of Star Wars.
