10 Awesome Superhero Film Moments For When Marvel Owns Everything
6. Norman Osborn Rules the World
The Secret Invasion miniseries depicts a subversive invasion of Earth from the shape-shifting Skrull race. Like most of Marvels major events, the storyline incorporates heroes and villains from all corners of the cinematic universe Avengers, Spider-Man, and X-Men. But no scene is arguably more provocative than Secret Invasions final image: long-time Spider-Man nemesis Norman Osborn, now the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D.s replacement agency, H.A.M.M.E.R., standing at a table surrounded by Doctor Doom, Namor, Emma Frost, the Hood, and Loki, telling the cast of villains, This is how its going to be. Osborns ascent to nearly infinite political clout in the Marvel Universe kicks off the Dark Reign storyline. Any comic book fan who identifies Osborn as the Lex Luthor-esque power broker he became in the comics after his resurrection in the mid-90s, would instantly be intrigued by the prospects of a film where Norman is calling all the shots. What makes this adaptation even more worthwhile is the fact that both Sony and Marvel Studios already have two great actors in place for Norman and Loki. Fans of Chris Coopers film work are likely drooling at the prospect of the actor portraying Osborn during this surreal power grab, and if you put him in a movie with Tom Hiddleston's Loki there won't be any scenery left to chew.
