10 Awesome Train Wreck Scenes In Films That Are TOTAL Train Wrecks

7. Red Tails - Planes Vs Trains

Red Tails may have been a tedious, slow and poorly written WW2 film, I do have to commend it for two things:

1) Shining a light on the Tuskegee Institute Of Alabama which trained black cadets to become fighter pilots and their role in WW2

2) Had one hell of a Nazi-busting train vs planes scene.

Released in 2012 and produced by Lucasfilm, Red Tails would be the last film released by them before the infamous Disney take over. Interestingly, it was also Cuba Gooding Jr's first film theatrically released since his 2007 smash hit (cough) Daddy Day Camp. Yikes.

Let's start with the negatives, well, as mentioned earlier, I love it when movies show a less explored side of WW" but the story deserved a better writing team. The story was so underwhelming and slow paced which shocked me considering I found out it was written by John Ridley (Oscar winner for adapting 12 Years A Slave) and Aaron McGruder (writer and creator of The Boondocks).

In this train wreck scene, three pilots have locked on to a Nazi train and engage in an incredible fire fight causing the train to derail in spectacularly fashion whilst squishing a few Nazis for good measure.
