10 Awesome Wolverine Moments Hugh Jackman Won't Ever Get To Do
8. Taking On The Hellfire Club Alone
One of Wolverine's big draws is his propensity for moments that are as awesome as they are completely over the top.
Case in point, Uncanny X-Men, Vol. 2 #133. As part of the build up to The Dark Phoenix Saga, Jean Grey had been brainwashed by the villain Mastermind into becoming the Black Queen of the Hellfire Club. Using her psychic powers, the Club was able to take down and capture the rest of the X-Men. The rest of them that is, except for Wolverine.
Logan went on a solo rescue mission using the only covert tactics he knew, running through the front door and throwing himself into an army of guards. He did what he does best, tearing through the mooks (who by some horrendous oversight weren't referred to as pawns) like they were made of paper and even paused to deliver a Dirty Harryesque monologue to the last one standing, who promptly dropped his gun and ran off (presumably to the nearest dry cleaner). The fight ended with Logan bursting through the door to the Club's inner sanctum, several guards still clinging to him.
Interestingly, three of the guards who were badly maimed in Wolverine's rampage would later go on to join Donald Pierce's group of cyborg mercenaries the Reavers, who will be the villains in Logan.
