10 Awful 2014 Movies That Deserved To Bomb At The Box Office

9. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Budget: $65 million Box office: $39.4 million When reviewers are instructed to avoid posting word of mouth notices about an upcoming film it's a sure sign that a stinker is on the way. The first Sin City was a thoroughly enjoyable overblown noir with a distinct visual style but sadly its belated sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For failed to follow in its footsteps. Perhaps if the sequel had been conceived and released in a more timely fashion it would have been far better received - after all, the original movie had plenty of fans who would have lapped up more of the same. Unfortunately, despite the return of creators Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, all they got was diminishing style over lack of substance, and even the presence of Eva Green as a sexy femme fatale wasn't enough to draw in audiences. A note to Rodriguez - if you're going to wait nine years before making a sequel to a popular movie, at least make it more visually interesting and spend a little time developing a stronger script.
