10 Awful 2017 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween

1. Friend Request

Friend Request
Warner Bros.

Though surprisingly well-shot for the most part, Friend Request is the latest film to cash-in on the current trend of social media horrors, but ultimately ends up feeling at least a few years behind the times (in part because its worldwide release has been staggered over the last 18 months).

While there's sure potential here for a satirical horror film about Facebook, the script instead takes the more formulaic path of warmed-over supernatural nonsense, and becomes decidedly less interesting once this is made clear.

Like most techno-horror films, it's an insanely goofy movie that refuses to accept how daft it is, instead taking itself dead-seriously and proving horribly dull as a result. No matter how limited your options seem this Halloween, just...don't.
