10 Awful 2017 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween
9. The Bye Bye Man
Even ignoring the eye-roller of a title, The Bye Bye Man squanders a not-terrible premise (a villain who exists merely by his victims thinking of him) on rote, predictable jump scares, characters who frequently defy basic logic and some howlingly bad dialogue ("Daddy, you know I'm not a flashlight!")
Supporting appearances by Carrie-Anne Moss and legendary Oscar-winner Faye Dunaway are meanwhile baffling and distracting at best, and ultimately what could've been a fun remix of A Nightmare on Elm Street for a new generation is just stamina-draining trash.
At least it wasn't the huge breakout box office hit many were expecting, so it actually might not kickstart a franchise. Phew.
