10 Awful 2017 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween

It's typically not a good sign when the latest entry in a classic horror movie franchise can't even get a wide theatrical release, and in the case of this Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel nobody asked for, the listless end product makes it abundantly clear why.

Inside directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo serve up some occasional style, but otherwise Leatherface is a tedious and forgettable horror-mystery film which creates an origin story for the iconic horror villain few fans really desired to see.

The kills quickly become repetitive, Stephen Dorff and Lili Taylor are thoroughly wasted in supporting roles, there's barely any chainsaw action to speak of, and the final reveal of Leatherface's identity falls totally flat.

It's easy to see why Lionsgate shelved this for over a year before sending it out to die. It's probably time to leave the franchise alone for a while.
