10 Awful Comic Book Movies That Must Never Be Made

9. Secret Invasion

MABE-art

Alien shape-shifting villains using the disguise of many well-known superheroes to forward their plans of planetary domination? Yeah, that's what I thought. While The Avengers film explored the alien invasion situation, it was thankfully streamlined and free of unnecessary exposition. Secret Invasion on the other hand, was the culmination of months and months of small hints and story-lines, and even I found it confusing on my first read. Wait, where did the superheroes come from? The alien ship? Wait, what's happening? The fight scene's were unbearably confusing due to the huge cast of heroes, which made it a chore understanding who was an alien shape shifting imposter and who was the hero. While the large scale could pass in a film, it was already executed in The Avengers, and once again, the clutter of so many characters would hinder more than it would help. Also, I feel obliged to once again comment of the ending. "Huh?" would be chorused around the world as millions of people struggled to understand how the Green Goblin saved the day. "Didn't he die in Spider-Man 1?" is a question that no comic book fan wants the burden of answering and explaining. Best leave this one in the trades.
