10 Awful Fashion Trends Of The Future (According To Films)

7. Computer Eyes

As seen in: Robocop, Strange Days, The Terminator The other practical thing that helmets offer in a lot of sci-fi films are heads up displays that show up on a motorcycle-style visor. That's what they could manage back in the seventies, anyway. Things got a lot more imaginative later on when those augmented reality computer dealies became embedded not on lenses or anything, but within our very eyes. Robocop maybe doesn't quite count, since he was part-man, part-robot rather than any sort of fashion icon to be imitated, but there's plenty of other movies where non-Robocop, non-Terminator future folk are kitted out with them. Looking through lenses that scan and analyse every part of your surroundings just looks really annoying. You won't be able to get anything done without being distracted by how many calories are in your bag of Doritos, or without your mum popping up on video chat when you're headed into the shower. Ew. The scariest thing about this particular fashion trend is that the films might actually be right about it, since it's a small stretch from the current likes of the Google Glass, which not only distract people from their day-to-day life by forcing them to talk to their goggles to take photos, but also make them look like total dorks. Imagine a whole world of people who look like this? That's not just unfashionable, it's downright chilling.
