10 Awful Films American Horror Story Actors Want Us To Forget

9. A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) - Connie Britton

Though she isn’t a mainstay of the AHS line-up, playing only Vivien Harmon in the first and eighth seasons, Connie Britton has nevertheless made an indelible mark on the show.

A two-time Golden Globe nominated actor, Britton is best known for her TV roles in hit shows Nashville and Dirty John alongside her big screen stints in American Ultra, Bombshell, and most recently Promising Young Woman.

Being such a prolific performer, though, it’s inevitable that not everything she brings her skills to would be a hit. And one of those films was the disastrous remake of classic horror A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Panned for its unoriginality and lacklustre thrills (even original star Robert Englund voiced his distaste for the remake), the entry saw Britton appear as Dr Gwen Holbrook.

The mother of protagonist and final girl Nancy (Rooney Mara), Britton is given the task of being Nancy’s emotional support. Fronting many of the film’s more heartfelt moments, Britton’s performance almost fools us into thinking the script has heart to it. At least her character got to go out in spectacular fashion, though.

This nightmare is one that most horror fans would rather forget about.
