10 Awful Films Buffy The Vampire Slayer Actors Want Us To Forget
5. Thr3e (2006) - Marc Blucas
Marc Blucas, otherwise known as Riley Finn, Buffy Summers' corn-fed boyfriend throughout seasons four and five of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, followed in the footsteps of many of his Buffy co-stars and turned his hand to the horror-thriller market.
Unfortunately for him, Thr3e has neither much horror nor any thrill.
Seminary theology student Kevin Parson (Blucas) becomes the new target of a serial killer and enlists the help of police psychologist Jennifer Peters (Justine Waddell), whose brother was murdered by the same man. The killer leaves a series of cryptic clues that the pair then have to solve in order to prevent his next kill.
A solid premise, promising spills and thrills along the way, right? Well, it should have, but Thr3e tried (and failed) too hard to rip-off the tone of the likes of Seven and Saw, without any of the narrative juice to back it up.
Even though it was adapted from Ted Dekker's novel of the same name, Thr3e has been accused of plagiarising a fictional film written by Charlie Kaufman's fictional brother Donald Kaufman in 2002's Kaufman-penned Adaptation, which itself is an intentionally failed adaptation of the non-fiction book The Orchid Thief.
Did you catch all that?
