10 Awful Films Buffy The Vampire Slayer Actors Want Us To Forget
4. Cop Out (2010) - Michelle Trachtenberg
You're probably thinking: "Wait, which Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor starred in Cop Out?"
Well, that would be little Dawn Summers herself, Michelle Trachtenberg, as Detective Jimmy Monroe's (Bruce Willis) daughter Ava.
The setup is simple: buddy cop movie, pairing an old, cynical, burnt out police detective with a younger, funnier partner - so, a bit like Dragged Across Concrete, but without all the hijinks and fun.
There is probably not a single person who worked on Cop Out who doesn't want you to forget it - not least its (typically indie/cult) director Kevin Smith, for whom this marked a definite but unfortunate departure from his usual style and material; And, of course, the stick in the mud of the whole process - Bruce Willis.
In short, Willis approached Cop Out like it was holding a gun to his grandmother's head.
Lucky for Trachtenberg, she didn't have much to do beyond being a convenient plot device: Ava's moody dad has to raise funds for her batshit expensive wedding at short notice so he doesn't lose macho-macho face with her stepfather. She is a secondary character, and so the few people who actually remember this film are unlikely to remember she was in it - until now, that is.
