Does anybody know what happened to Will Ferrell? He first rose to fame on SNL with his insane commitment to even the most outlandish sketches and characters. Then he shot himself into the comedy stratosphere with all-time classics like Elf and Anchorman. He even wowed audiences with his ability to turn to more dramatic roles in Stranger Than Fiction and Everything Must Go.

But since the 2010s rolled around, he’s honestly been giving us disappointment after disappointment. And the 2015 feature-length mistake Get Hard is no exception.

Will Ferrell is a rich hedge fund manager who gets charged with fraud and embezzlement. The judge tells him that he has only thirty days to get his affairs in order and so he enlists Kevin Hart to help him toughen up for prison. Hart actually has no knowledge of prison whatsoever and is scamming Ferrell for his money.

Alison Brie plays Ferrell’s wife and her entire role in the woefully unfunny movie is essentially to stand around and look attractive. She is criminally underutilised, like everyone else in this dud, and her entire part ends up being pointless. What a waste.
