10 Awful Films Glee Actors Want Us To Forget
7. Hello Again (2017) - Jenna Ushkowitz
Hello again starts out with lots of promise. Based on the off-Broadway musical of the same name, it begins with a moody atmosphere that reels you in to wonder what's coming next.
The story is made up of ten vignettes, each one set in a different time period within New York City, which focuses on different people's sexual encounters. Some of the romances do tell a wondrous story whilst others have no depth or purpose at all. This format of storytelling means there's no smooth flow to the movie because the narrative is episodic and jarring, taking you in and out of the plot. Moreover, none of the characters were deep or engaging in the slightest because they were only present for a small portion of the film.
But the worst aspect of Hello Again is how it features several musical numbers, yet there are no memorable songs. The vocal performances are fine but nothing outstanding. The lyrics for the songs are totally simplistic - it seems as though the writers tried to force basic conversations to be told as a song.
