The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is a motion picture starring Jeremy Piven, of Entourage fame. If that’s not enough to tell you that this movie is a stinker, you haven’t watched enough Entourage. Piven, whose name remarkably appears above the title on the poster, is expected to carry out the Will Ferrell role in this Adam McKay/Ferrell production, and proves himself to be in no way up to the task.

The producers and director Neal Brennan, an accomplished comedian, managed to convince no fewer than four Office actors to appear in this badly dated dud. David Koechner, Paul Lieberstein, and Craig Robinson appear in roles of varying sizes, but the booby prize goes to Ed Helms, portraying the privileged, schmuckish, cuckolded Paxton Harding (i.e exactly the same role he was concurrently playing on NBC).

Helms is a talented actor whose big screen credentials never seemed to quite match up to expectations, but this must be his nadir. Again: this film stars Jeremy Piven, from Entourage. Helms does his level best and draws a few chuckles with his committed performance, but some hurdles can’t be overcome.
