10 Awful Moments That Ruined The Robocop Reboot

1. PG-13 Action

The biggest complaint of all, of course is that RoboCop 2014 is rated PG-13, which means that there's very little room for much blood and gore. The original was renowned for its explosive violence, particularly as it relates to the opening scene in which Murphy is blown to pieces, and the famous toxic waste sequence, in which one of Boddicker's cronies is melted with toxic waste, then explodes into a bloody mist when Boddicker accidentally runs him over. There's none of that here, though. RoboCop spends a lot of the movie blowing up robots, stunning humans, and even when he does gun them down, it's without even a drop of blood. To be fair, I was quite impressed that they managed to get away with the scene which shows Murphy's brain, esophagus and lungs exposed, but that's one of the few genuinely good moments in this movie. In addition to the lack of blood, there's no swearing, and the action that actually does exist is pretty minimal: there aren't any giant set pieces or anything like that. Still, not everyone disliked the film. What did you think?
