10 Awful Movies Dexter Actors Want Us To Forget

9. Gamer - Michael C. Hall (Dexter)

Bedrooms 2010
Lionsgate

In Gamer, Michael C. Hall plays Ken Castle - a billionaire who earned his fortune by creating a virtual reality where players can take control of other people. However, the public don't know Castle has a secret version called Slayers, where players control death-row convicts and force them to take part in dangerous missions. One prisoner, Kable, convinces his handler to help him put a stop to Castle and his tyrannical regime.

Because the premise is pretty goofy, you'd expect the film to be silly and generic. However, nothing can prepare viewers for Michael C. Hall's performance. The way he plays the role isn't over-the-top. It's over the stratosphere.

Because Hall is known for playing characters who are repressed and reserved, it's refreshing to see him cut loose with a quirky character like this. Having said that, it's pretty much impossible to take him seriously while he's making video game sound effects and gurning like a madman. Even though Gamer has some interesting ideas, Hall's performance is distractingly painful.

Unsurprisingly, Gamer bombed at the box office and received a universal 'Game Over' from critics.
