10 Awful Movies Dexter Actors Want Us To Forget
8. The Devil's Hand - Jennifer Carpenter (Debra Morgan)
In 2014, Jennifer Carpenter starred in a horror film called The Devil's Hand (also known as The Occult, Where the Devil Hides, and The Devil's Rapture). If you thought this movie has too many titles, that's the least of its problems.
In The Devil's Hand, an Amish community becomes paranoid when six girls are born on the sixth day of the sixth month. Because the girl's births are synonymous with the number '666,' the community believe the children are destined to become servants of The Devil. As soon as the children are born, the community turn on one another, unsure whether or not to let the girls live.
Despite the great premise, this film has little to offer. Terrific actors like Rufus Sewell, Jennifer Carpenter, and Colm Meaney deliver all their dialogue monotonously, which is an absolute waste of their talents. Even though the story is set up like a horror, a lot of sections feel more like a drama, as if the director couldn't decide what genre to focus on.
It's a shame, since The Devil's Hand has a fascinating story and could've worked in the hands of a more experienced horror director like James Wan or Mike Flanagan.
