10 Awful Movies Sons Of Anarchy Actors Want Us To Forget
1. Charlie Hunnam - King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword
Though he earned plaudits for his leading role as Jax Teller in Sons Of Anarchy, Charlie Hunnam hasn’t had the best of luck in Hollywood. The industry threw its weight behind him, as it has done with several prospective leading men (such as Avatar’s Sam Worthington or Taylor Kitsch) in the past, but quickly lost interest when his vehicles underperformed.
In the wake of the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), seemingly every studio attempted to lay the foundations for an interconnected series of films. Almost all of them have crashed and burned in the attempt, with the DC Extended Universe opting to revert to individual character-driven stories and others, like Universal’s Dark Universe, canned entirely.
Guy Ritchie’s Hunnam-led King Arthur: The Legend Of The Sword was another attempt to get a mammoth franchise off the ground. Despite the fact that the head of the knights of the round table has been as done to death on film as his folklore counterpart Robin Hood, Warner Bros intended it to be the first in a gargantuan six film series, budgeting $275m for it.
Like almost every other aborted universe, they were guilty of spending too much time setting up future sequels, with zero focus on making the first film a cohesive and engaging standalone story to justify them. Hunnam was lumped with the dubious honour of leading one of the biggest box office bombs of all time as a result.
