Harry ‘Opie’ Winston is the favourite character of a large number of Sons of Anarchy fans. A loving husband and father to his wives and children and a loyal friend to his clubmates, he was the centrepoint of many of the series’ most emotional moments, with few more heart-wrenching that his eventual departure.

‘The Coen Brothers’ and ‘awful film’ are rarely found together in a sentence, but 2004’s The Ladykillers, a remake of a far superior Alec Guinness-starring 1950s British black comedy, is one of the few duds in their storied careers, perhaps even the worst film they’ve ever created.

Despite boasting Tom Hanks in the lead role, it was painfully unenjoyable, labouring heavily to deliver laughs. Ryan Hurst made up part of Hanks’ criminal ensemble as a dim-witted football player, drawing adverse comparisons to the vastly superior quarterback part that he had played in Remember The Titans just a few years beforehand.

Hurst was no stranger to lacklustre star vehicles, having starred alongside Kevin Costner in post-apocalyptic dud The Postman and Robin Williams in the obnoxious Patch Adams in the late 90s. Now seventeen years old, the Ladykillers was shockingly his last major film project, as he has only appeared in voice roles, small independents and direct-to-video productions since, albeit remaining active on television.
