10 Awful Movies Stranger Things Actors Want Us To Forget

6. Winona Ryder (Joyce) - Alien Resurrection

For the longest time, Alien Resurrection was the nadir of the franchise. Although that's no longer the case (Thanks, Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem), it's certainly not a great movie. Weirdly, there is no one element that makes Resurrection disappointing. It's let down by many factors.

The first thing that feels off is the tone. According to the writer, Joss Whedon, the actors played his tongue-in-cheek dialogue too seriously, making the comedy hit-and-miss. The Xenomorphs don't come across as menacing as before (especially when they're badly rendered with CGI). The action is competent but feels generic compared to the epic scale of the first two Alien movies.

Alien 3 may have been disappointing but still had some terrific visuals. Sadly, Resurrection feels lacking in that department since there isn't a single shot that stands out. Cast members such as Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder and Ron Perlman are totally fine but they deserve to be in a more well-written movie.

Having said that, it's not all bad. The clone sequence is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the franchise and the behind-the-back basketball sequence is unbelievable. Sadly, it's not enough to save the movie.
