10 Awful Movies That Actors Loved Shooting
7. William H. Macy - Jurassic Park III
Widely regarded as the weakest entry in the long-running franchise, Jurassic Park III was directed by Joe Johnston as opposed to Steven Spielberg. Johnston had wanted to create an entry in the series for some time, and got onboard when Speilberg asked if he was still interested.
Upon release, Jurassic Park III was lashed by fans and critics alike, with many singling out the annoying supporting characters. The threequel had its moments as a fast-paced chase movie, but for the most part it was very lacklustre. Because of these flaws, JP III remains the lowest grossing entry of the franchise to this day.
Apparently, no-one told William H. Macy, who had a great time making the film. As an actor typically known for smaller scale comedies, Jurassic Park III was one of the few blockbusters Macy dived into.
Initially, the future Shameless favourite was unable to join the project due to scheduling conflicts with another 2001 film, Focus. However, when Focus co-star Laura Dern (who would also turn up in JP III) urged him to take part, Macy agreed and found himself placed into a more action-packed thrill-ride.
Though he was initially critical of the film starting production without a script, William H. Macy went on to call Jurassic Park III "the most amazing thing I've ever done in the business".
