10 Awful Movies That Actors Loved Shooting

6. Jason Flemying - The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Next, we come to an adaptation that was heavily criticised by both reviewers and its own stars. Released in 2003, the unfortunate failure of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a gruelling project for many involved.

Director Stephen Norrington got into many severe arguments with leading man Sean Connery, and Norrington would leave the filmmaking business as a result of the negative backlash to this '03 release. So too would Connery himself, who claimed that The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen fuelled his decision to retire from the industry. On the whole, the film's production was fraught with difficulties, with 20th Century Fox piling pressure on the production team.

One exception to the rule of misery here, was British actor Jason Flemyng. In the film, Flemyng played Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, embodying the dual performance that comes with this long-established role. As Dr. Jekyll, he's calm and measured, but it's his Hyde-driven half that so often makes a major impact.

Embracing his performance whole-heartedly, Jason was more than happy to be patient and wait a full eight hours to get into the hefty make-up for Mr. Hyde. While he is assisted by computer generated effects in the final product, Flemying's performance is still able to stand out in a film that mostly falls short on so many fronts.
