10 Awful Movies That Actors Loved Shooting

3. Milla Jovovich - The Resident Evil Franchise

Another long-running franchise that drew the ire of its fanbase, the Resident Evil movies are rather notorious for being awful across the bloated six entries under the series' banner. Two-thirds of those films were directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, who had also handled the live-action rendition of Mortal Kombat back in 1995.

The Resident Evil movies didn't follow the video game franchise's narratives and went in their own direction, and this was typified by the introduction of Milla Jovovich's Alice as the series' main protagonist. As a clone created by the Umbrella corporation, Alice quickly became the leading action heroine in the series... and a rather shallow one, at that.

It's heavily down to her relationship with director Paul W. S. Anderson, but Jovovich slowly got to make the character her own. Across the sequel offerings of Apocalypse, Extinction, Afterlife, Retribution, and The Final Chapter, Milla is clearly having a whale of a time shooting up the many monsters on-screen.

To this day, Alice is Milla's best known role in film, most notably for the sheer amount of times she returned to play the character.

Unfortunately, the response to this movie franchise found fans of the Resident Evil video games facepalming again and again with every new entry. Here's hoping 2021's planned RE movie reboot fares better.
