10 Awful Movies That Wasted An A-List Cast

3. Nine

Suicide Squad

Chicago director Rob Marshall's next venture into the romantic musical seemed destined for awards season glory based on the cast alone, but the reviews and box office were so underwhelming that faded from memory in an instant, despite boasting one of cinema's rarest sights in a lackluster Daniel Day-Lewis performance.

Based solely on the talent involved, there was simply no reason for Nine to turn out to be such a damp squib. As well as the man many people regard as the greatest actor to ever grace the screen, legends Judi Dench and Sophia Loren also appeared alongside Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz in the most rare of projects where the six leading roles have all been played by Academy Award-winning stars.

Golden Globe winner Kate Hudson eight-time Grammy recipient Fergie took seventh and eighth billing respectively, and based on nothing but their combined trophy haul alone Nine should have been ten times better than the all-star dud that it was.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
