10 Awful Movies Vikings Actors Want Us To Forget

6. Kevin Durand (Harbard) - X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Autumns Blood
Twentieth Century Fox

Kevin Durand plays possibly the most enigmatic character in Vikings, Harbard the Wanderer. Although he arrives as a stranger to Kattegat, he is well-received after he heals Ivar's pain. Due to his healing abilities and the fact Harbard is a Nordic name for Odin the Allfather, it isn't long before the locals believe their new visitor is a deity. Although Harbard seems to have supernatural abilities, it isn't clear if he is a divine being or a mere conman.

Durand is so charismatic in the role, it's hard to believe this is the same actor who portrayed The Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Despite the fact the film is filled with many great actors like Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, it is let down by an abominable script and insultingly bad special effects.

Watching Durand lumbering around in a ridiculous fat suit is meant to be funny but it's just one of many things that don't work in this movie. (Also, what casting director chose Durand to portray a 600lb character?) He's not the worst thing in this failed X-Men spin-off but it definitely didn't do his career any favours.
