10 Awful Movies Vikings Actors Want Us To Forget

4. Gustaf Skarsgard (Floki) - Autumn Blood

Autumns Blood
ARC Entertainment

Autumn Blood revolves around a teenage girl trying to survive in an isolated house in the mountains with her mute brother while a pair of savage hunters (portrayed by Gustaf Skarsgard and his godfather, Peter Stormare) invade their home.

Okay, that premise sounds pretty interesting. So, what's the problem? Well, the director, suitably called Markus Blunder, decided to tell the story through visuals. As a result, there's less than five minutes of dialogue in the entire film.

Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with relying on visual storytelling. It worked perfectly in The Artist, All Is Lost, and the entire Silent Film era. But the director is clearly not equipped to convey a story visually. Without dialogue or narration, the characters come across as boring and the story becomes unclear. Even though Skarsgard can effortlessly command a scene in Vikings without speaking, the Swedish actor feels utterly wasted here. Apart from the beautiful scenery, Autumn Blood doesn't have anything to offer.

If you're curious to watch a dialogue-free film, give Blunder's blunder a wide berth and watch Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton instead.
