10 Awful Trailers For Surprisingly Good Horror Movies

Hell House LLC centres around a haunted house tour that led to the deaths of 15 people. Several years later, a film crew enter the resort, eager to uncover the truth about that night. But as the crew begin exploring, they realise the building isn't as abandoned as they thought.

When it comes to any found-footage feature, it's important not to imitate the aesthetic of The Blair Witch Project, to avoid coming across as a carbon copy.

But based on the trailer, it's looks like Hell House LLC is trying to replicate The Blair Witch to a tee. We get a lot of shaky-cam, camera disruptions, and characters aimlessly running around in the dark. Also, a lot of the shots are just a black screen so we can't tell what's happening.

This is a pity, since Hell House LLC is one of the better found-footage films. It's tighter and more evenly paced than Blair Witch or Paranormal Activity. Despite the trailer showing a lot of shaky-cam, this cheap tactic isn't prevalent in the film itself. The horror is minimalistic but perfectly executed. There are jump-scares, but they always feel deserved.

The trailer for Hell House LLC may be shoddy, but don't let that deter you. If you're struggling to a find a decent found footage feature, this is the one for you.
