10 Bad Horror Movies (With ONE Great Scene)

7. Samuel L. Jackson Gets Eaten - Deep Blue Sea

Saw V Strahm
Warner Bros.

Deep Blue Sea is one of the most spectacularly dumb big-budget horror movies ever made, and though it's amusing enough in the so-bad-it's-good sense, few would call it a genuinely good, well-crafted piece of cinema.

Except for that scene, of course.

We're talking about the perfectly placed scene where, after the genetically engineered sharks get loose and wreak havoc, corporate executive Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) attempts to deliver a rousing rallying speech to the assembled survivors.

Just as he begins to explain his plan, however, one of the sharks leaps out of their enclosure and drags Russell into the watery depths before ripping him apart.

As much as the film is badly acted, poorly paced, and awash in atrocious CGI - the latter even in this very scene - Russell's death is a mini-masterpiece of shock value that's sure to leave every unaware viewer leaping out of their seat in terrified glee.
