10 Bad Signs That Spell Doom For Paul Feig's Ghostbusters

7. Other Images Aren't Any Better

So much of the imagery of this remake has been problematic thus far.

First, why the need to duplicate the "three white Ghostbusters and a black one" mix? Why not two black Ghostbusters, or an Asian one? As the film keeps trying to distance itself from the original, it seems silly to recreate the exact make-up of the team.

Second, the posture of the team in the first group photo seems to convey a fair amount of attitude, across the board. Remember that in the original, Egon was the weird geeky guy, Ray was awkward and unsure of himself, and Winston was an easy-going guy. Peter had plenty of hubris, but that's really where the ego stopped, and it was never "attitude" - just self-confidence.

Now, you're either mimicking the cast, or you're not, and if you're not, that's fine, but having all four members trying put on "tough" poses for this promo shot? That seems a bit much, especially the blaster-across-the-back pose that Kate McKinnon is doing. Can you picture Egon doing that? No. Either way, unless all four characters in the new film are going to be Peter Venkman clones, this photo does little to say who these characters are.

A second shot of McCarthy and McKinnon in character is more promising - but raises fears that McCarthy is playing the same character she always does.
