If Daniel Craig got the most flak this century for being cast in a movie then Tom Cruise takes that mantle for the last century when he signed on to play Lestat in Interview With The Vampire. Even the book's author - Anna Rice - took out a full page newspaper ad denouncing the decision. And everyday folk walked out on their day jobs to grab pitchforks and storm the castles of Hollywood - or so the furore would have us believe. And then Tom Cruise turned in the performance of a lifetime and stole every scene he was in as the lecherous, devious, thoroughly charismatic vampire and Anna Rice felt so moved as to post a full page ad apologising for her hasty derision.
