10 Bafflingly High 2015 IMDb Scores You Won't Believe

4. In The Heart Of The Sea

The Score: 7.1/10 What It Should Be: 6/10 Ron Howard's latest is a movie of the real-life story that inspired Moby Dick, so why is it so bloody boring to sit through? Don't get the wrong idea: In the Heart of the Sea has its moments, most of them when the whale is on-screen, but ultimately it fails to inspire much joy. Nobody wants to pay out their hard-earned cash to be bored, but Howard's film is a lot more sink than it is swim. Not to forget Chris Hemsworth's diabolical accent. Critics panned this movie upon its release, and it has since failed to pull audiences into theatres. In the Heart of the Sea has only clawed half of its $100 million budget back, and has been deemed a flop by box office analysts. That said, those folk who did bother to see it thought it worthwhile: IMDb has the film pegged with a respectable score of 7.4. Does that rating reflect the actual film, though? No, not at all. It's such a step down for Howard, too, who made one of his best ever films - with Hemsworth, no less - in Rush.
