7. The Grappling Gun
As the character of Batman has evolved over the decades, so has his technology. He can't leap tall buildings in a single bound like his best friend Clark Kent, so Batman has to improvise. The grappling gun has served The Dark Knight well over the years. Whether it's stopping villains from plummeting to their deaths or chasing after a moving train, it has never disappointed. I think there's a great symbolic aspect with Batman's use of the grappling gun. More often than not, he's used this type of gun to save people while another type of gun is part of the reason he became Batman in the first place.
