10 Best 2017 Movie Trailers

9. Transformers: The Last Knight

Spider-Man Homecoming
Paramount

Release Date: June 23, 2017

The Trailer: Transformers movies are usually pretty bad, but their trailers are usually pretty solid - and this is no exception. A much more dramatic opening than you'd expect from the franchise slowly gives way to an action-heavy final few moments, including a great-looking showdown between Optimus and Bumblebee.

There's some interesting camera work too. The shot of a metallic dragon gliding over the grassy cliffside looks gorgeous, and it's good to see the series exploring other time periods besides the bland cityscapes that have plagued it thus far.

Despite the fact that the trailer technically spoils itself (Optimus Prime is gone? Oh no wait, there he is!), it looks like a different kind of Transformers movie, but only time will tell if it lives up to the hype.

The Movie: Marky-Mark is back for a second go-around, and there are plenty of explosions, as you'd expect. Not many movies would feature Nazis and medieval knights and even fewer would blow them up, so if nothing else, at least The Last Knight will be treading new ground.

Not much is known about the plot at this point, but is that really why anybody goes to watch Transformers? Probably not. We all go for the Michael Bay-hem, and on that front, this is sure to deliver.
