10 Best Animated Horror Movies
4. Fear(s) of the Dark
Another horror anthology, 2007's deeply creepy Fear(s) of the Dark is less reminiscent of Creepshow and more like 1993's Necronomicon or the short--lived Masters of Horror TV series.
This flick features different animators helming each unsettling segment, resulting in vastly different animation styles co-existing within the same short run-time. Just like its live-action equivalents, this produces a flick which is guaranteed to leave you sleeping with the lights on, since if one director's style doesn't spook you, another is sure to.
Whether it's the 3D rendered body horror from Black Hole author Charles Burns, the more traditional Gothic style of Lorenzo Mattotti, or visual artist Blutch's horrifying wrap-around segments, this flick is sure to have a segment which won't leave you for long after the credits roll.
An ideal showcase for the diverse range of animation styles boasted by its directors, Fear(s) of the Dark overcomes sparse story to create a moody masterpiece.
