Wallace and Gromit are a huge part of British culture. Though all of their adventures make for brilliant stories, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is the best of the lot.

Centred on a town fixated by the annual giant vegetable competition, the film sees our two heroes defending the locals’ vegetables against on assault of hungry rabbits.

As with all of Aardman’s films, the use of clay and stop-motion animation is instantly recognisable. It’s this animation that gives the movie such a distinctive art style. Though the process is painfully slow (each animator averaged around thirty frames per day when making the film), the payoff is always worth it.

However, the film’s biggest selling point is the script. The plot – as ludicrous as it is – never has a dull moment, and the film is comedic throughout with multiple laugh-out-loud moments along the way.

Granted, some of the humour may go over the heads of those outside of Britain, but The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is still an essential watch for anyone who’s a fan of animation.
