7. Titan A.E.

Ghost in the Shell
Fox

Titan A.E. was released in 2000, and somehow ended up fading almost entirely into obscurity.

It's a travesty, because Titan A.E. is a beautifully made Sci-Fi adventure that boasts a truly (ahem) stellar cast as well as a story that reads like a love letter to Sci-Fi's roots.

Titan A.E. features the voice of Tone Loc (of Funky Cold Medina fame), as well as the voices of other well known names such as Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, Ron Perlman and Bill Pullman, to name but a few.

It tells the story of Cale, a scientist's son who narrowly escaped the destruction of Earth who finds himself years later caught up in the search for his father's work, "Project Titan".

Titan A.E.'s tone is not quite in keeping with it's family friendly aesthetic, and it treads some dark territory, but it's a brilliant watch that will leave you absolutely baffled as to why you hadn't heard about it before.
