10 Best Blumhouse Horror Movies You've Probably Never Seen
6. Bloodline
Much like Dexter, Bloodline sees a killer with a moral compass in Evan (Seann William Scott) as he kills those that abuse their children. To be exact, Evan is a new father and social worker who goes after those whom abuse and mistreat those children he sees for counseling.
One of the biggest takeaways from the film is just how well Sean William Scott does in a serious role. Most will recognize him from his days as Stifler in American Pie or his zany roles in films like Dude Where's My Car but here Sean William Scott turns those roles on their head and delivers a fantastic, chilling performance.
Never shying away from the action, kills are bloody, messy and in-your-face graphic at times. There's a scene early on in the film, that will slap you in the face out of nowhere, and it's not even a murder. However, it's not over-the-top graphic. Everything that's done fits and doesn't seem like it's being done purely for the shock factor. The film has style, has an atmosphere it is trying to portray, and nails it down.
Bloodline is a slow burn of tension and uncertainty and when the ending comes it lands like a gut punch. Twists and Turns will keep you guessing all the way until the end, and leave you thinking about it long after the credits roll.
