10 Best Characters From 2024 Horror Movies

Late Night with the Devil was one of 2024's most unforgettable horrors, and that's in large part due to a stellar performance from David Dastmalchian, who after many years of working as a respected character actor finally got to lead his own genre joint.

Dastmalchian certainly rises to the occasion as Jack Delroy, the host of a flailing late-night talk show, Night Owls, which becomes ground zero for a deadly paranormal incident. Though we're immediately sympathetic towards Jack for the loss of his wife as outlined at the start of the movie, it also quickly becomes clear that there's more to Jack than meets the eye, the full extent of which isn't revealed until the end. But Dastmalchian does a remarkable job of making Delroy at once a sly parody of '70s talk show hosts and a nuanced, tricky character whose pursuit of fame and success ultimately ends up being his undoing - as it so often is.

Given his history of playing weirdos, creepers, and degenerates, David Dastmalchian certainly isn't the first actor you'd think of to play a chirpy talk show host, and yet he absolutely knocks it out of the park.
