Given the bleak and media driven world of The Hunger Games, it's understandable why the masses would fall for someone like Katniss Everdeen. Even in the real world, seeing someone who selflessly sacrifices their life for a loved one would start a frenzy.

When being interviewed, she came across as a charmingly relatable. Even in the game, she is one of the few who acts only to survive. By just being herself, she pushed all the right buttons. And through small acts of courage, she showed people hope that even the little guy can make a difference.

If anyone is wondering why the Katniss of later movies are not included in this list, it's because in those, her influence became more and more forced. In the third movie, she only gives bland speeches that only the script says are inspiring, and her crying scenes went from being genuinely sad to repetitive.

Good thing she has her moments. Plus, she is one of the few role models for girls in blockbusters nowadays that probably has an action figure.
