One of the finest sequels of all time, Christopher Nolan stepped up his game immensely when it came to The Dark Knight. Using an IMAX camera in the opening to introduce audiences to the Joker, the scene is set for one of the most beloved and best-remembered cinematic villains of all time. Heath Ledgers performance is regarded by most as the greatest the Joker has ever been in live-action. It won him the posthumous Best Supporting Actor statue at the Oscars, making him only the second person in history to win posthumously in an acting category after Peter Finchs leading role in Network more than thirty years earlier. Just like Batman Begins, Nolan leaves us wanting more at the very end when he casts Batman into the night as the villain. Because hes the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. It's spine-tingling stuff, set to an incredible score from Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard.
Movie / TV enthusiast with a DVD and Blu-ray collection bigger than I'd care to admit. If anyone is offering creative / furniture solutions to house them, I'm all ears.
